Starting May 28, the Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance will launch weekly fireworks displays from the 2nd Avenue Pier at 9 p.m. until August 28, weather permitting+ The event will light up the Atlantic sky and mark a season of summer celebrations.

A two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle blocked lanes on Highway 17 Bypass and Deerfield Links Drive Friday morning, and one person was taken to the hospital for injuries — the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.

A vehicle overturned on Nichols Highway — Winburn Road in Galivants Ferry Friday morning, blocking a lane as Horry County Fire Rescue responded and the South Carolina Highway Patrol began investigating, and no one was injured.

The 70th annual Sun Fun Festival is a three-day family event in downtown Myrtle Beach at Plyler Park that started Friday and will run through Sunday.
