- ➤ Benjamin Tyler Greene filed a lawsuit in Horry County Common Pleas Court after he was struck in the head by an object on Shark Wake Park 843’s wake boarding course ride on July 6, 2024 and suffered significant injuries that required extensive medical treatment — he alleges the park failed to warn customers and did not provide proper lifeguard oversight. The city will decide on staffing levels and pay while continuing to rely on volunteers—who currently earn $13.75 per call—with concerns that full-time coverage may lead to higher taxes after the grant ends.
