  • Santa Claus will drive through Myrtle Beach streets on Saturday as the city government released a schedule with estimated arrival times at several stops; residents can follow the route for a festive treat.  WPDE

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Louisiana-based Raising Cane's will open a 4,570 sqft chicken restaurant at the former Burro Loco site (960 Jason Blvd) in Myrtle Beach pending board review on Dec. 18. If approved, it will be the first in town and offer its signature menu + fries, Texas toast and sweet tea.  The Post and Courier

CULTURE NEWS

  • Foodees Fest is underway in Myrtle Beach today with 40 food trucks and 60 vendors showcasing unique pop-up fare (bringing a fresh taste of local flavors). Residents can enjoy this lively event in the heart of the city.  WPDE
  • Fans gathered at the Socastee swing bridge on Friday, Dec. 12 to watch filming for Netflix’s Outer Banks final season. Local residents noticed actors in character as police managed traffic to keep the area safe.  My Horry News

  • Coastal Carolina University announced on Dec. 11 in Conway that Missouri State head coach Ryan Beard has been hired to lead the Chanticleers. Beard, 36, brings a record of 19 wins to 16 losses from three seasons at Missouri State & now leads a program that struggled to break even.  The Post and Courier
