EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Dec. 8, Horry County Schools board approved $6.48 million in holiday bonuses for educators, giving full-time employees about $575 after taxes and part-time staff around $278 net (funds come from an unassigned general fund) as Superintendent Cliff Jones recognizes staff achievements after a record graduation rate. - ➤ The South Carolina Department of Transportation announced the Socastee Swing Bridge will be closed for filming on Friday, Dec. 12 (filming requires temporary safety measures). Local traffic may face delays during the closure. WPDE
