- ➤ Murrells Inlet officials announced roads will temporarily close on Sunday for the annual Christmas parade - residents are advised to plan alternate routes. WPDE
- ➤ Local first responders helped school children at the Shop with a Hero event on Dec. 7. The event brought holiday cheer and provided gifts to students in the community. WMBF News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Myrtle Beach City Council voted last month to honor Patrol Officer Henry Scarborough by naming a one-block road (near the police station and historic train depot) as a tribute to his sacrifice on his first day in 1949, with a dedication ceremony planned soon. The Post and Courier
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Coastal Carolina University football earned a bowl berth and will face the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on Dec. 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana. WMBF News
- ➤ The Myrtle Beach Bowl will be played on Friday, Dec. 19 at 11:00 a.m. at CCU Brooks Stadium and on ESPN, where Kennesaw State, making its first bowl appearance, will face Western Michigan in their inaugural meeting. WMBF News
- ➤ Coastal Carolina University football will face the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in the Independence Bowl soon + the game will mark the team's sixth straight bowl appearance and bring excitement to local fans. WPDE
