- ➤ Surfside Beach is preparing for its annual holiday parade on Melody Lane that will feature prizes for creatively decorated floats. The event promises a festive day for families to enjoy local traditions. WPDE
- ➤ Kind Keeper Animal Rescue hosts a Winter Food Truck and Market Fair on Dec. 7 behind Dunkin Donuts and CVS, offering food, gifts, animals, crafts and $10 family or pet photos. - ➤ Local musician Marcus Cannon will perform at Hot Fish Club in Murrells Inlet on Dec. 6 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Cannon, who studied guitar at Coastal Carolina University after moving here in 2015, continues to energize the Grand Strand’s music scene. The Post and Courier
- ➤ Christmas events dot the Grand Strand and Pee Dee as Myrtle Beach hosts Winter Wonderland at the Beach until Jan. 4 and nearby communities schedule parades, tree lightings, and festive markets from Dec. 2 to Dec. 18. - ➤ Two juvenile bottlenose dolphins were found dead last week off North Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island; one had pneumonia and severe parasite loads while experts from the Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network said the cases are not linked & not cause for alarm. The Post and Courier
