On Saturday (Nov. 22), Conway held a community giveback distributing free food and essential items to families for the holiday season.

Myrtle Beach officials said the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be held this Saturday at Plyler Park on North Ocean Boulevard and will feature a 32 foot tall tree, festive characters, and free hot cocoa.

Carolina Master Chorale will perform at 5:30 p.m. and the tree will be lit at 6:15 p.m.—free parking is available nearby.

City officials are reminding residents to watch for runners during the annual Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving in Myrtle Beach—participants will be urged to use caution during the event.
