- ➤ An Horry County family is searching for answers after their beloved horse Slick was shot at their Gilbert Road farm on Sunday morning around 9 a.m.—local police are investigating and no camera captured the incident. WMBF News
- ➤ Police responded to a bear sighting near Baywatch Resort on Wednesday night and safely directed the 130-pound animal away from a busy area—warning residents to secure trash and avoid feeding wildlife after notifying the South Carolina DNR. WPDE

- ➤ On Wednesday, the Historic Preservation Commission unveiled a historic marker at the corner of Green Sea and Mitchell Sea roads near Loris to honor William Norton's 1784 land grant that led to the county's first meeting building and a key mill area + the commission plans to add more markers in the future.
