  • Aqua Paradise partnered with WFXB FOX TV on Veterans Day to give Army Veteran James Miller a new hot tub from the Hot Tubs for Heroes program. The company said the gift honored veterans for their service — a gesture that resonates with local residents.  WFXB Fox TV
  • On Veterans Day, Wally Hash, owner of Sunspace and local veteran, donated a beautiful sunroom to the Disabled American Veterans Carroll E. Prosser Chapter 30 Myrtle Beach—providing a relaxing space for local veterans while Tom Huston joined the studio event.  WFXB Fox TV
  • The Festive Brass of Myrtle Beach performed 12 patriotic tunes at the General Robert H. Reed Center today to honor veterans. Vietnam veterans in the band recalled their service — the tribute featured a special song that honored each military branch.  WPDE
  • A shelter in Myrtle Beach has issued a Code Blue—providing emergency overnight relief for people in need amid dangerously cold weather.  WMBF News
  • On Saturday, Nov. 15, the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach will host its first Sniffari on the Strand from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at The Horseshoe. Dogs will enjoy a one-mile beach walk with special sniff stations+ adoptables for adoption + Santa for photos.  WPDE
  • On Veterans Day, Myles Hill and Austin Chrisley of Rally Point Bar Co. appeared in the studio to promote their local charity that aids veterans through events and fundraisers—this nonprofit will soon deploy a mobile bar trailer to bring support such as housing and meals to veterans across the Lowcountry.  WFXB Fox TV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Boeing South Carolina honors veterans by offering hands-on internships through its Veterans Program and DoD’s SkillBridge initiative, which has a 94% hire rate that turns military service into full-time jobs. The company funds scholarships, training and veteran support programs while preparing to expand its 787 Dreamliner facility to create 1,000 jobs in North Charleston (including positions for military spouses).  WPDE
  • The Aynor Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Nov. 10 for The Clipper Barn, a barbershop owned by Andrew and Kristina Tartaglia. The shop opened in September — offering a country style vibe — to serve local residents.  My Horry News

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Field of Honor display near Warbird Park in The Market Common shows 250 historically accurate American flags—each with a card noting key events—to honor veterans, first responders, and celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday. Veterans like Margo Boyle and Eddie Wilkerson shared personal memories during their visit, and the exhibit stays open through Dec. 7 before returning for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.  The Post and Courier

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Myrtle Beach Flight School — formerly Myrtle Beach Academy of Aviation — is hosting an open house event on November 15 to invite community members, aspiring pilots, and media professionals to explore its innovative flight training programs on the Grand Strand.   • HGTC will explore establishing a satellite campus in northwest Horry County by holding a community forum at the State Theatre in Loris on Nov. 20 at 5 p.m. + local leaders, employers, and residents are invited to share ideas on courses and facilities to meet growing demand.  My Horry News

  • Horry County Fire Rescue issued heating safety tips as cold weather sets in and many residents turn on their heat for the first time this season. The agency urged homeowners to clean chimneys and have their HVAC systems maintained—failure to do so could quickly lead to smoke or small fires.  WPDE
