- ➤ An inaugural event was held on Sunday in Myrtle Beach to raise funds for children in need in Horry County — organizers worked with Myrtle Vegas Charity Event, Help 4 Kids, and Backpack Buddies, offering a buffet, live DJ, photo booth, raffles, and prizes, and they plan to hold another event next year. - ➤ The Mythical and Medieval Fest will return on Nov. 15-16 at 3833 Socastee Blvd in Myrtle Beach to mark its 12th anniversary—featuring a medieval village with food vendors, a blacksmith, knights on horseback, juggling jesters and knife and hatchet throwing. The event will serve as a fundraiser for Caleb’s Dragonfly Dreams, a nonprofit that helps abused and abandoned youth in local group homes. WPDE

- ➤ Dozens of horses trotted on the Myrtle Beach sand on Nov. 8 during the American Heart Association’s 44th annual Beach Ride—riders covered a 20-mile route from Lakewood Camping Resort to 24th Avenue North. The event raised nearly $450,000 to support research and education for heart disease and stroke. The Post and Courier

- ➤ Coastal Carolina won a 40-27 game over Georgia State in Conway Saturday night as Samari Collier ran an 85-yard touchdown and threw three TD passes.
