COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Local farmers markets are turning into Holiday Markets with more festive treats, gifts and handmade treasures as farmers rotate crops instead of selling fresh veggies. The markets will run in Surfside Beach on Tuesdays—10 AM to 2 PM, North Myrtle Beach on Fridays—10 AM to 2 PM, Conway on Saturdays—8 AM to 1 PM, Valor Park on Saturdays—10 AM to 2 PM and Pawleys Island on the last Sunday of each month—11 AM to 2 PM to support local creators, bakers and artisans.  WFXB Fox TV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Patti Hilton of the Mad Gator Grill & Sports Bar presented new recipes today including shipwrecked casserole, craisin shortbread cookies and salted caramel cheesecake cookies during a studio visit. She invites diners (in Barefoot Landing) to visit for lunch or dinner and to watch for a Thanksgiving meal menu (coming soon) for Turkey Day.  WFXB Fox TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • Carolina Country Music Fest officials announced that multi-platinum hitmaker Justin Moore will make his festival debut in 2026—he joins headliners including Riley Green, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton and Post Malone. The event will run from June 4-7 at the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion in downtown Myrtle Beach and tickets are on sale.  WMBF News
  • The Greg Rowles Legacy Theatre unveiled a new outdoor mural on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach that welcomes visitors with beach-inspired images and its logo (a sign of its effort to beautify the area). Community members will join a ribbon cutting ceremony on Nov. 12 at noon.  WPDE

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Myrtle Beach is set for a warm weekend — temperatures will reach the low-mid 70s today and mid-upper 70s over the weekend with only a chance for stray showers on Saturday and Sunday. A strong cold front will bring a BIG temperature drop early next week — Monday will see only the low 50s while Tuesday may bring frost as readings fall to the upper 20s to lower 30s.  WMBF News
  • Homeowners in Cherry Grove say a storm drain is dumping silt and sediment into a boating channel and they posted a sign to call attention to the issue — officials explained that the drain is on a state road and they will study the area to find a long-term fix.  My Horry News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the SC Forestry Commission will burn the area on International Drive from Nov. 10 to Nov. 14. The road from Highway 90 to Ocean Bay Elementary School will be closed from 8:00 a.m. on Nov. 10 — law enforcement will enforce the closure and alternate routes are Highway 501 and Highway 22.  WPDE

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Ripley's Aquarium will host a special breakfast event that lets visitors see its penguin colony before the facility opens to the public. Guests will enjoy pancakes, eggs, bacon, coffee, and juices—offering a unique chance to get close to African penguins.  WFXB Fox TV

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • County officials said plans for 149 single-family homes on a 52-acre site near Freewoods Road will remain unapproved until project revisions address concerns about flooding, traffic and wildlife habitats — the proposed changes include adjusting landscape buffers and entrance designs, with an updated review scheduled for the Dec. 4th planning commission meeting. Earthworks and Sampit River Investments LLC are working with the county to resolve issues before the proposal heads to the county council.  The Post and Courier
