- ➤ Today the Sunrise Beach Crawl kicks off the 8th annual Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam, a three-day festival at the old Myrtle Square Mall site that will draw over 2,000 Jeeps for an obstacle course, beach crawls, parties & 120 vendors; spectators pay $10 while kids 12 and under enter free as proceeds benefit a local charity. - ➤ McKenzie Remillard was named ABC15 Kidcaster of the Week after she shared her love for drawing in art club and her interest in Harry Potter from visiting Universal Orlando —she also played softball and basketball. WPDE
- ➤ Myrtle Beach will host a free Halloween Spooktacular at the Mary C. Canty Recreation Center along Canal Street starting at 5pm today. The event features candy, games, arts and crafts, live music, a haunted house, inflatables, and a s’mores roast—guests should come in costumes—and promises a festive atmosphere. WFXB Fox TV
- ➤ There are a few days left to visit Conway's Fear Factory Haunted Attraction at 7 Elm Street in Conway until Saturday from 7 p.m. — midnight, with tickets sold on-site. Imaginations and Murder Beach Productions set up the attraction to offer live actors, animatronics and scary scenes in the City of Halloween. WPDE

- ➤ Developers plan to invest about $11 million in Myrtle Beach to build 32 pickleball courts, with eight private courts at The Shelby and 24 public courts at Whispering Pines expected by summer. The shift from planned oceanfront towers comes as rising construction costs and growing demand make court construction more feasible — future high-rise towers remain an option if conditions improve. - ➤ Myrtle Beach High School is still searching for a new athletic director after John Cahill stepped down on June 30. The hiring was paused due to eligibility issues and a fine and the job posting closed on Oct. 21—candidate interviews will resume soon while a public survey remains open until Oct. 31. My Horry News

- ➤ Conway kicked off its Halloween March on Oct.1, but visitors with disabilities said the event was nearly inaccessible due to a lack of nearby handicap parking and rough sidewalks.
