GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The South Carolina Department of Social Services has warned SNAP recipients that their November benefits will be on hold if the government shutdown continues. About 260,000 households may face delays in aid and are advised to budget remaining funds (and check with local food banks) until federal funding is restored.  My Horry News
  • North Myrtle Beach broke ground on a new 15-court pickleball complex Saturday morning at the Central Park Pickleball Complex on Possum Trot Road—this $6.5 million project featured a covered championship court, small clubhouse, vending and office space with open lawn seating, and it was followed by the Pickleball with the Stars event at 10 a.m. at the J. Bryant Floyd Community Center across the street.  WMBF News
