- ➤ Breeze Airways announced direct flights from Myrtle Beach International Airport to Fort Lauderdale on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and to Orlando on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays—one-way flights will start at $59 and add to the airline's 12 total destinations. - ➤ A $230 million Hilton timeshare resort called Ocean 23 is planned for Ocean Boulevard at 23rd Avenue North to replace a demolished hotel. City officials approved a $2 million incentive voucher on Sept. 23 and said the project will add improvements to nearby sidewalks—costs have risen by more than 300 percent. The Post and Courier

- ➤ North Myrtle Beach City Council declared a state of emergency on Sept. 26 to prepare for Tropical Storm Humberto, which is expected to strengthen into a major hurricane over the weekend.
