ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Horry County Fire Rescue said a 5-acre fire near Old Forest Drive in Loris was contained Sunday at 11:24 a.m. — crews are cleaning up and returning to service.  WMBF News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Breeze Airways launched a new twice-weekly flight service linking Myrtle Beach to New Orleans, with flights on Thursdays and Sundays offered at $59 each. This service expands Breeze's network to 14 direct destinations from Myrtle Beach following growth since it began in May 2021.  My Horry News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Myrtle Beach photographer Jack Thompson received the Order of the Palmetto—South Carolina's highest civilian honor—at a birthday celebration held Sunday at the Myrtle Beach Train Depot. Local leaders including Mayor Brenda Bethune and State Senator Luke Rankin attended the event.  WPDE

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Saturday, Clemson will host Syracuse with a noon kickoff and warm, mostly sunny skies—temperatures near 83 at kickoff and mid 80s later—while Coastal Carolina will visit South Alabama at 7:00 p.m. In addition, South Carolina will play Missouri for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff with partly cloudy skies and a slight chance of showers before finishing in the lower 70s.  WPDE
