GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Indigo Farms, a family farm that has spanned the state line since the 1700s, may be affected by a new highway expansion using Alternative 4—this route would pass through its historic fields and market. Officials will meet on Sept. 23 in Myrtle Beach and on Sept. 29 and 30 in Sunset Beach—farm owner Sallie Bellamy Lun plans to speak at the meetings to protest the route.  The Post and Courier

SPORTS NEWS

  • Friday's Conway Homecoming parade took place before the Tigers beat Aynor 32-23 — the win marked a festive kickoff for the annual celebration. Local residents enjoyed a brief glimpse of community pride during the event.  My Horry News
  • Coastal Carolina University hosted the region's first coaching summit on Saturday to empower local youth and high school coaches as they learned new techniques—more than 20 workshops, CPR and AED certification, and panel discussions with coaches Kevin Schnall, Justin Gray and Sandy Fowler provided practical training.  WPDE
