A fundraiser to honor Sept.
11 first responders was held Saturday at Flynn's Irish Tavern in North Myrtle Beach, featuring a towering U.S. flag and a New York City firetruck display. Retired Fire Captain John Richter organized the event with honor guards and speakers, benefiting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
🚧 Accidents
Horry County Fire Rescue is working to contain a two-acre brush fire near Highway 50 and Loblolly Avenue in Little River, with crews expected to remain on scene today as the South Carolina Forestry Commission assists.
At about 12:28 p.m. Saturday, Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a 12-acre brush fire near Highway 50 and Loblolly Avenue in Little River.
The team contained the blaze by 5:05 p.m. with help from the South Carolina Forestry Commission using plows to dig a fire-break line - no buildings were damaged though smoke remains visible.
