EmpowerLit Nonprofit will host its 2nd Annual Battle of the Cakes fundraiser on Sunday, Sept.

13 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Market Common; kid bakers will compete to create the best-tasting cake while raising funds.

Dino Thompson’s family began their restaurant legacy in 1946 with a handshake deal at Kozy Korner that helped shape local dining.

Thompson now shares his memories through books about old Myrtle Beach and works to preserve the city’s culinary heritage.
