  • The Waves of Praise Gospel Fest held last Saturday at Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place united Myrtle Beach residents with soulful sounds from quartets, choirs, rap and contemporary gospel while attendees donated nonperishable items to local food banks—promoter Reggie Dyson said the event built community spirit.  WPDE

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Saturday morning, a large yacht caught fire on Coquina Harbour Drive in Little River—nearby boats were evacuated and one person received minor treatment before signing a transport waiver. Investigators are looking into what caused the blaze and crews from Calabash Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard Southeast are helping with the inquiry.  WPDE
  • Crews responded early Saturday to a 2-alarm fire that left a yacht heavily damaged in Horry County—firefighters controlled the blaze quickly.  WMBF News

  • Eva Perez Rigney announced her bid for mayor today and promised to boost the economy, enhance public safety, and reduce crime in Myrtle Beach—she will host monthly Beachside Chats, recruit better jobs, and revive local culture.
