25 for domestic violence at his Socastee residence—he was released on $5000 bond and placed on administrative leave pending further judicial action.

Two Coastal Carolina University graduates plan to bring a sea turtle rescue and education center to Conway — they received nonprofit status and are meeting with city leaders to find a building that meets health requirements.

On Aug. 26, Surfside Beach town council approved a rule that lets golf carts with headlights and taillights run 24 hours in town limits.
Council member Harry Kohlmann said residents favor the change even as some speakers raised safety concerns and police noted similar numbers of accidents and citations in 2024 and 2025.
North Myrtle Beach held a groundbreaking ceremony on August 25 to start building a $10 million dual-purpose facility—Fire Station 7 and a police substation—that will improve local safety as the community grows.
The 16,000 square-foot building is set to open by the first quarter of 2027.
