- ➤ A fiery four-vehicle crash on SC Highway 22 on Aug 20 took the lives of Earl Burnette, 49, and Flora Beltran-Gomez, 35, of Loris when a dump truck hit stopped traffic and sent a Chevrolet SUV over a bridge railing into the Waccamaw River—traffic remains slow as crews assess damage. - ➤ On August 15, a fatal shooting at Rascals Bar and Grill in Conway left 41-year-old Lester Goldsmith dead and 26-year-old Irving Centeno-Gonzalez detained on ICE hold—two other men were charged with disorderly conduct. WFXB Fox TV
