- ➤ Tickets are now on sale for Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens from Nov. 28 to Jan. 4, 2026, when the event will run from 4 to 9 p.m. The event will feature over 2,700 hand-lit candles+ sparkling lights, beverages, music and festive scenes that support the gardens’ fundraising efforts. - ➤ Horry County Schools expelled a 12-year-old Myrtle Beach Middle School student last year for not reporting a classmate’s gun brought to school on Feb. 6, 2024. The family withdrew the appeal on July 29, 2024—leaving the expulsion upheld by the school board amid changes to school safety policies. The Post and Courier
