- ➤ North Myrtle Beach leaders approved a plan on July 21 that clears the way for a new 7-Eleven to be built in the Palmetto Coast Industrial Park to serve local workers and residents. - ➤ Police reported that 42-year-old Waltez Latham was fatally shot at 340 Waties Drive around 4 a.m. on July 22 in Murrells Inlet while another person was injured and taken to a hospital—and officers are investigating the case. My Horry News

- ➤ The Myrtle Beach City Council passed a new juvenile curfew measure on Tuesday, July 22, which restricts those under 18 from being out between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. unless with a parent—businesses have given positive feedback and the curfew is now in effect. WPDE
- ➤ A Murrells Inlet fisherman and nonprofit Shoreline Shark Conservation filed suit against county leaders to stop Horry County’s long-standing ban on land-based shark fishing — they argue the rule conflicts with state law and jeopardizes their business.
