- ➤ Drivers were advised to avoid Highway 501 near Waccamaw Pines Drive—two lanes were blocked after a two-vehicle crash that led Horry County Fire Rescue to respond just before 1:00 p.m., resulting in two people taken to a hospital while one signed a transport waiver as South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated. - ➤ Two people were taken to the hospital after a jet ski they were riding collided with a dock in Horry County on the Intracoastal Waterway — officers are investigating the accident. WMBF News
- ➤ A jet ski crash on Saturday morning near Osprey Road on the Intracoastal Waterway in Horry County left one person in the hospital (dispatch was recorded at 9:31 a.m.) while the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources investigates the incident. WMBF News

- ➤ Tropical Storm Chantal formed off the coast and was expected to make landfall overnight Saturday, July 5—south of Myrtle Beach—prompting a high risk of rip currents along the shore.
