Good morning, Myrtle Beach.

Cherry Grove Beach hosted a salute from the shore event on Saturday, July 4 to mark the 250th Independence Day — two AH-64 Apache helicopters, a vintage Navy warbird, and a pair of F-16 fighter jets flew overhead as local residents gathered to watch.

Peter Horry, the county’s namesake who led a Revolutionary War regiment with General Francis Marion, is honored at a 250th exhibit at the Horry County Museum in Conway that details his military service and role in shaping local history.
