ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Crews reported that a pedestrian suffered critical injuries in a Tuesday night crash in the Bucksport community — officials are investigating the cause and urging road caution. WMBF News
- ➤ Horry County Fire Rescue responded Thursday morning to a car crash on the 5000 block of Highway 17 Bypass when a vehicle nearly sank in a pond and two people were rescued from its roof—one person escaped while one was taken to a hospital for evaluation. WFXB Fox TV
- ➤ A pedestrian walking westbound across Highway 501 at Carolina Forest Boulevard was struck by a 2015 Honda SUV shortly after 11pm Wednesday night and died— the driver remained unharmed. WFXB Fox TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Hunter Austin Skipper, a 27-year-old man from Conway, was arrested on Tuesday when officers responded to a call on Pipkin Drive and found him in an RV with visible flames; he is charged with crimes including domestic violence, assault and battery, petit larceny under $2,000, and second degree arson & is held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. WPDE

- ➤ Coastal Carolina University held its ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday for its new indoor practice facility that cost $20 million and spans 90,000 square feet with a synthetic teal turf field, training room and video recording platforms — the facility will also host commencement ceremonies, club sports and community events at the end of University Boulevard near Highway 544. - ➤ Coastal Carolina University opened its $20 million indoor football practice facility on June 25 — a 90,000 square-foot center off Highway 544 in Conway — which will host sports, events, and other university programs in the future. The Post and Courier

- ➤ North Myrtle Beach has set traffic guidelines for the 4th of July fireworks show, which will run from 9:30 to 10 p.m. at Cherry Grove Pier—starting at 7 p.m., the 3500 block of N. Ocean Boulevard and a nearby beach area will be closed with alternate routes provided. WFXB Fox TV
- ➤ The South Carolina DNR will offer courtesy boat inspections at many public boat landings during the Fourth of July weekend—helping boaters check that safety equipment is onboard and engines are properly registered. Officers will work with local law enforcement on July 4, 5, and 6—giving boaters the chance to fix any issues before launching. WPDE
