  • Morgan McDonnell from the Conway Chamber said Conway Riverfest will take place Saturday, June 28 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with paddle battle river races, opening ceremonies, golf cart parade, live music & a fireworks show presented by Beverly Homes.  WFXB Fox TV
  • Savannah’s Playground in Myrtle Beach will receive a $2.1 million renovation—improving facilities for children of all ages and abilities as officials plan to update the park soon.  WMBF News
  • Grand Strand PRIDE 2025 will host an event tomorrow at Nance Plaza in Myrtle Beach—set from 3—9 p.m.—with music, booths, vendors, food, and advocacy activities. The group wedding ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a reception with cake and a first dance.  WPDE
  • In Horry County, a nonprofit opened a Lily Pad room—a cozy space with TVs and comfortable chairs in the Department of Social Services office—to help children waiting for foster families feel at ease. Co-founder Jennifer Tice said the program will add 52 rooms across South Carolina by the end of 2027 to ease the stress of the foster care process.  The Post and Courier

  • One person was injured in a crash on Tuesday morning near Alford Road and Stillpond Road in Conway and was transported to hospital at 9:12 a.m.—crews blocked traffic lanes as the South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated the incident.  WPDE

CRIME NEWS

  • An arrest was made after a stabbing at the Speedway gas station on Mr. Joe White Avenue in Myrtle Beach when 25-year-old Jaziah Taylor allegedly pulled a small black knife and stabbed a victim in the chest around 5pm last Sunday, and the victim was taken to a hospital with severe injuries + Taylor now faces charges for assault, battery, and weapon possession during a violent crime.  WFXB Fox TV
  • A Myrtle Beach woman received a scam call from a Summerville number that claimed she missed federal jury duty and owed a $200 bail — the caller pressured her with official-looking documents and directed her to a location with a Bitcoin ATM before her daughter recognized it as a scam.  WMBF News
  • Former Horry Co. deputy coroner Christopher Dontell—charged with criminal conspiracy to commit murder and accessory after the fact in a 2020 case—will appear before Judge Alex B. Hyman on Monday July 14, as stated by the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.  WPDE

  • Residents in Myrtle Beach are experiencing dangerous heat and humidity this week; Tuesday's temperatures made it feel as high as 104 degrees in the area. Officials from the National Weather Service and Tidelands Health advise staying indoors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and drinking plenty of fluids to avoid heat-related illness.  My Horry News
