CRIME NEWS

  • Shawon Shamarion Williams, 19, was extradited from Lake County, Illinois back to Horry County on Saturday — he is expected to face charges for attempted murder and possession of a weapon for his role in the May Little River boat party shooting that injured 11 people.  WPDE
  • Police said 3 people were hurt in an overnight shooting — the incident occurred early Sunday morning in Horry County.  WMBF News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Myrtle Beach Art Museum announced a new admission policy that will begin on June 14—charging $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and veterans, and offering free entry for those under 18 and full-time college students with valid ID. The museum also unveiled two exhibitions featuring vibrant mixed-media seasonal works and winning art entries from the ArtFields competition running until Sept. 21.  WPDE
  • An artist with Pee Dee roots took the stage at Carolina Country Music Fest on June 9th and was interviewed by WMBF, who highlighted her musical journey + her excitement for her debut performance.  WMBF News

  • Gas prices in South Carolina fell by 4.1 cents last week—reaching a new average of $2.70 per gallon on Monday. The prices are 34.6 cents lower than a year ago as refineries produced more gasoline.  WPDE
