  • Adaptive Surf Project expanded beach mat access for people with mobility challenges at Lakewood Camping Resort on Sunday morning—Mobi Mats were installed to create a stable beach path and five free beach wheelchairs were added for guests.  WPDE
  • On June 7, a rescue flight from Grand Strand Airport carried 29 dogs and cats from shelters in Georgetown, Williamsburg, and Horry counties to rescuer groups in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania to help them avoid euthanasia. Local nonprofits such as Pilots to the Rescue, Friends of Carolina Animals, and SE Coast SC Rescue Collaboration joined efforts + plan more flights when temperatures drop.  The Post and Courier
