A 19-year-old man, Shawon Shamarion Williams, was arrested in Lake County, Illinois in connection with a shooting at a Little River boat party on May 25 that injured 10 people, and he is expected to face charges for attempted murder and weapon possession before being extradited to Horry County.

Horry County police are investigating a shooting near Loris where a victim was shot multiple times and driven to a hospital—officers found blood, casings, and reports of damage to nearby homes and a car.
