- ➤ Jeremy Evans recounted that on Sunday night a shooting on a party boat with 124 people docking at the pier in Little River left 11 injured—he suffered a bullet to his ankle and police have not yet arrested a suspect believed to be on board. WPDE
- ➤ Authorities responded to a carjacking call on Luster Leaf Circle when three unknown individuals took a victim’s rental car at gunpoint and later found it disabled on Carver Street—no arrests have been made while a suspect is also accused of removing the victim’s gold grills. WMBF News

- ➤ The April Teacher of the Month award went to Jessica McKever—a dedicated eighth grade history and social studies teacher at Ten Oaks Middle School—who has taught in Horry County for 19 years and also coaches students in the National History Day competition. - ➤ Governor Henry McMaster signed a new state law today that requires children under 12 riding in golf carts on public streets and highways to be buckled up. The law also lets local governments set golf cart rules (such as limiting where carts can operate) and requires drivers to be 16 or older (with a valid driver’s license). WMBF News

- ➤ A nonprofit is repurposing an old school building in Conway to offer new support for people with addiction. The project will open soon and aims to provide essential treatment—improving access for those in need. WMBF News
