Two people died when a 2004 Honda motorcycle ran off the left side of Towne Centre Parkway near Breakers Drive in Carolina Forest at 12:15 a.m. Monday, striking a curb and a utility box before flipping over.

Two Myrtle Beach police officers saved a man who was about to jump off a bridge earlier this year — officials said the officers were honored for their quick action in preventing a tragedy.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department responded at 5:30 a.m. on May 19 to a report of a pedestrian struck by a hit-and-run near the 1000 block of South Kings Highway— the pedestrian did not survive—and the road remains closed while police investigate.

Mason Montrell Thomas Romeo, 19, was arrested Sunday after a hit-and-run on South Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach that injured two motorcycle riders, who were taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries—he is charged with traffic hit-and-run after allegedly attempting an unlawful U-turn.
