  • On Friday, May 16th, Horry County police charged 53-year-old Joyanna Vansant with murder and possession of a weapon after a welfare check on Dinger Court in Burgess led to the discovery of a deceased person in a closet and evidence of a shooting—she is now held at J.   • The City of Myrtle Beach will begin its annual mosquito spraying on Monday — officials say it controls mosquito populations safely for people and animals while crews spray different areas on each weekday and beekeepers must register their hives.  WPDE

  • Myrtle Beach now enforces seasonal rules for dogs and bicycles on the beach through Labor Day—dogs must be on a leash and allowed before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m., while both dogs and bicycles can use the boardwalk only from 5-10 a.m., with service dogs exempt.  WPDE
