- ➤ Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a four-vehicle crash on Highway 501 near Dodge Lane on Thursday morning, blocking Myrtle Beach-bound lanes and transporting two injured people to a hospital as the South Carolina Highway Patrol began an investigation. WPDE

- ➤ The Myrtle Beach Police Department identified four suspects arrested after a string of armed robberies earlier this week + the incidents occurred in parking lots at Celebrity Circle, N Ocean Boulevard, North Kings Highway, Colonial Drive and 65th Avenue North + and the suspects now face 51 charges. - ➤ Officials will begin a $72 million beach renourishment project along the Grand Strand in late fall 2025 with work starting in North Myrtle Beach in December, continuing on Myrtle Beach in February, and finishing in Garden City and Surfside Beach in April—The Corps of Engineers awarded Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company a contract to place two million cubic yards of material along 26 miles of coastline to reduce erosion risks after Hurricane Ian. - ➤ The first sea turtle nest of the season was found Thursday morning on Surfside Beach near 6th Ave in Horry County and contained 109 eggs that were moved to Garden City for safety - Terry Graham of SCUTE said beach-goers should avoid bright lights and flash photography to protect the hatchlings. - ➤ On May 1, the Myrtle Beach Police Department had 39 uniformed, 13 sworn and 16 support service vacancies—staff shortages have raised concerns as summer crowds build. The department plans to rely on neighboring agencies, overtime work and active recruitment with a possible 5% pay raise under the city's budget to fill the vacancies during the busy season. WPDE
