  • The 15th annual Crude’s Veteran Ride takes place today along the Grand Strand to raise funds for building custom homes for 9/11 veterans (honoring their service). Community supporters are invited to join this local charity event.  WMBF News

  • Myrtle Beach International Airport officials are handling challenges caused by the Spirit Airlines shutdown and say they are adjusting operations to ease disruptions. They noted the situation could have been much worse.  WMBF News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Wonders Theater at Broadway at the Beach hosts the opening night of Magic for the Future with special guest Trigg Watson performing for one week. Myrtle Beach residents can enjoy his magic show and experience unique entertainment today.  WPDE
  • Kyle Dills (a South Carolina native) will perform a solo set at the kickoff for the Carolina Country Music Festival on June 4 in Myrtle Beach. He will showcase a mix of original songs and covers that capture classic country vibes.  The Post and Courier
  • Myrtle Beach Area Children’s Theatre will present Mean Girls from May 15 to May 17 at Broadway Theater at Broadway at the Beach. The show updates the Broadway production with approved language changes and advises parental guidance for children 13 and under.  WFXB Fox TV

  • Record crowds bolstered the 87th Annual Myrtle Beach spring bike rally, running May 8 to 17 along the Grand Strand where improved weather is expected after May 11 storms. Highway 17 construction is paused by SCDOT+Horry County Public Works to ease traffic for riders.  The Post and Courier
