- ➤ On Friday, the Myrtle Beach Fire Department held its Recruit School Firefighter Graduation at the Double Tree Hilton where 27 recruits earned their pin after weeks of training to become firefighters, EMTs and paramedics — family, friends and community members gathered to celebrate the new firefighters and honor achievements like Zachary Davis’s physical fitness award. - ➤ An Horry County Police motorcycle officer was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on May 1 near Loris at around 7:30 a.m. on Red Bluff Road + Sandpiper Road, and he was transported to the hospital while the South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated the incident. My Horry News
