  • Horry County Fire Rescue said the Carolina Forest wildfire burned over 2,000 acres and reached 90% containment two months after it began. The agency said only a long, heavy rain—needed to soak the ground—will fully extinguish the fire as dry, windy conditions keep morning smoke visible.  WMBF News
