- ➤ Jaylen Mikeal Ingram, 19, of Myrtle Beach pleaded guilty on Monday, April 7 to charges of trafficking fentanyl, assault and battery, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime (sentences running concurrently) and was sentenced to 10 years in prison with a requirement to serve 85% of his term before parole (as per court records). - ➤ Last Wednesday, Myrtle Beach Police arrested 42-year-old Omar Dean Beckford for high and aggravated assault and battery after he fired several rounds following an argument near Ocean Boulevard + his bond was set at $500,000 and he remains in custody at J. Reuben Long Detention Center. WPDE
- ➤ Thomas Wade Long, son-in-law of former councilman Harold Worley, sued the Horry County Police on April 3 for wrongful arrest after officers removed a campaign sign from his Little River property during the 2022 race. He claims officers violated his constitutional rights and harassed him, and he is seeking damages and attorney fees. The Post and Courier

At a March 27 hearing along Highway 701, local property owners raised concerns about increased traffic and visual impact, and city planners deferred action until further research is completed.
