- ➤ A Myrtle Beach golf cart company is reminding drivers to obey road rules as warmer weather increases cart use. The guidelines ban carts on highways with speed limits over 35 mph and require them on public roads only from sunrise to sunset with specific seatbelt rules for young riders. WMBF News

- ➤ Scientists say the hurricane season will likely be quieter as El Niño brings high wind shear to the Atlantic & limits tropical cyclone development. The season starts on June 1 & residents should remain prepared in case a storm nears. WPDE
- ➤ At a SCDES meeting held Thursday, residents voiced concerns over a proposed Horry County landfill expansion that may fill over 100 acres of wetlands near Sterritt Swamp. Officials said public comments will be sent to the Army Corps for review, with a decision expected within 280 days (nearly a year). WPDE
