Myrtle Beach is fundraising for a future memorial to honor Vietnam Veterans in Warbird Park.
The city is asking for community support so the project can move forward.
The Little River Food Truck Festival is this weekend at Little River Landing on Watson Avenue with 35 food trucks, 50 vendors, live music, kids activities, an Easter Egg Hunt and an Easter Bunny photo. $5 entry and proceeds benefit Little River Rotary Club + Horry County Council on Aging.
Nominations for Best of the Grand Strand are now open for local businesses and attractions across the Grand Strand, with one entry allowed per day.
The top five nominees in each category will advance to the voting round starting May 4, and nominations close April 12 at 11:59 p.m.
Broadway at the Beach will open a shared venue with a distillery and tasting room this spring and plan a 28-acre surf resort later, along with Slime Kitchen and new attractions like Cloak and Wand Potion Bar, Alice’s Haunted Little Bookshop, Duckmania and a seafood restaurant with outdoor seating to offer fresh experiences in 2026.

Musician Anthony Stells will perform a classic rock party tomorrow from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Outriggers Bar & Grill at Wacca Wache Marina in Murrells Inlet, offering popular rock covers and originals for a lively coastal night.

Horry County Schools held its 17th Annual Technology Fair Wednesday, where over 3,000 students built robots, competed in esports tournaments, and earned scholarship and job offers.
The event showed the district's commitment to sparking creativity and future career paths.

A NOAA post referencing a 10-year-old study has sparked discussion as coastal scientist Andrew Barrineau says the research no longer reflects Myrtle Beach’s current beach erosion.
The city is updating stormwater systems downtown + has a project at 24th Avenue North to improve water flow.
The South Carolina Forestry Commission lifted its statewide burn ban Monday after wildfires burned across local counties, but high fire risks persist due to low humidity and strong winds.
Horry County will lift its ban Tuesday while North Carolina still enforces its statewide ban.

After a busy weekend of fire responses during burn bans, North Myrtle Beach Fire Department advised residents to update smoke alarms (not older than 10 years), keep fire extinguishers ready, and plan two exits from every room so everyone can leave safely.
Between Feb. 28 and March 29, law enforcement issued 3,495 hands-free citations statewide, with Horry County logging 354 tickets—its third-highest total—highlighting efforts to curb distracted driving in busy tourist areas.
The South Carolina Department of Environmental Services is holding a public hearing today at 6 p.m. at the Carolina Forest Recreation Center to review Horry County’s proposed $30M landfill expansion off Hwy 90 near Conway.
The plan would add three parcels to extend the facility’s capacity until about 2065 and awaits an Army Corps permit for mitigation.
The US Army Corps of Engineers said federal funding will not cover Garden City's southern beaches as a 1990s feasibility study limits the project.
Crews will extend sand placement from Myrtle Beach State Park to 1303 South Waccamaw Drive, and officials say Garden City must be added to future studies.
