  • Riderless horse Justice leads a parade in North Myrtle Beach today honoring fallen service members. The 9-year-old Friesian from A New Life Ranch (a nonprofit run by veteran Rick Bond and his wife) continues a centuries-old military tribute tradition.  WPDE

  • SeaBasil Thai & Seafood celebrated its grand opening at 4 p.m. on March 26 along River Oaks Drive in the Carolina Forest area; the restaurant offers authentic Thai cuisine mixed with Italian, American and Indian flavors.  WFXB Fox TV
  • Palmetto Chevrolet in downtown Conway now has a new owner—TJ Johnson, who also runs Conway Ford. Bill Marsh will help with the transition until year’s end as the dealership continues operations at its historic location.  My Horry News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Wildlife experts advise residents and park visitors to avoid feeding alligators as warmer spring temperatures bring them out to bask at Huntington Beach State Park and nearby areas. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The South Carolina Department of Revenue has automatically extended the filing deadline for 2025 Individual Income Tax returns to Oct. 15; taxpayers expecting refunds need only file while those who owe taxes must pay 90% by April 15 to avoid penalties (One Big Beautiful Bill Act under consideration).   • Coast RTA will begin changes on June 1 in Horry County by adding three buses and two routes that cut wait times to 60 minutes while linking Conway and CCU to the airport. A new 21.5-acre facility on Robert Grissom Parkway is scheduled to open late 2027 or early 2028.  WMBF News

  • Radial in Conway began offering Prism, an FDA-approved video game treatment for PTSD that uses a gel-infused cap and neuromuscular feedback to help patients find calm without discussing trauma.
