- ➤ Rise Partners bought Coastal Centre Mall in October and now plans to bring new retailers to its long-vacant storefronts along Church Street in Conway—former tenants like K-Mart, Goody’s and Winn-Dixie will be replaced by Marshalls, Homegoods, Petsmart, Five Below and Ulta. WFXB Fox TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A former nurse was arrested on Monday for allegedly violating drug distribution laws at Conway Medical Center when Ashley Jarnagin—35 years old and hired on January 10th, 2023 before being terminated on October 9th, 2023—fraudulently documented oxycodone twice and hydrocodone once and was released on a $15,000 bond while facing three counts amid an ongoing investigation. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Myrtle Beach City Government said the ocean outfall project at 24th Avenue North is replacing 11 stormwater pipes and is a third complete as of March 19 while the crew finishes the land side before moving to the ocean. The $42.6 million project—partly funded by state money—will finish with a 1,500-foot deepwater outfall by January 2026. WPDE
- ➤ Fire officials said that containment on the Carolina Forest wildfire reached 80% as crews work to secure the affected area. They will continue to deploy resources to prevent further spread. WMBF News

- ➤ On March 18, Horry County council voted 9—3 to end a one-year test of wind-driven shade devices on unincorporated beaches after a heated talk over safety concerns from lifeguards and beach service companies.
