ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 71-year-old woman from Little River died from significant burns after a house fire on Saturday (March 8) when she was taken to Doctors Hospital of Augusta, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.  WPDE

CRIME NEWS

  • One person sustained critical injuries after a shooting on Sunday morning at a motel on the 600 block of East Highway 501 in Conway; the victim was taken to an area hospital as police investigate an isolated incident.  WPDE
  • Residents in a Longs neighborhood are reeling after a deadly shooting took place earlier this week.  WMBF News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Horry County officials are asking residents to ground their drones as firefighters work to contain the Covington Drive fire near Carolina Forest. Sunday's rain brought hope — the wildfire is 70% contained though residents face flare ups and heavy smoke — and a mastication project will begin Monday morning.  WPDE
