- ➤ The 36th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival returns this weekend in North Myrtle Beach. More than 100 floats, bands, and shriners will parade by starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, with funds raised supporting local nonprofits (including Helping Hand). WPDE
- ➤ Myrtle Beach City Council named the Nance Plaza stage after longtime musician Phil Fox on March 10 to honor his contributions to local music + his legacy will be celebrated with Foxfest on March 21 featuring music, poetry and art. - ➤ The Blarney Pilgrims performed Celtic tunes at McEisley’s Tavern on March 11 and will present shows at Smuggler’s Den (March 13, 6-9 p.m.), 1229 Shine (March 14, 12-3 p.m.) and Thorny's (March 17) in Myrtle Beach. - ➤ A photo showing a Horry County beach patrol truck near the surf prompted some beachgoers to urge patrols to maintain a safer distance from crowded areas. County policy remains unchanged since a fatal incident in June 2024 spurred calls for legislative review. WPDE
- ➤ Park View Road in Conway was closed on Feb. 27 for upgrades to improve safety, walkability, and traffic flow. City officials said the project, which includes new sidewalks, landscaping and stormwater improvements, is expected to be complete by May. My Horry News
