- ➤ Teachers at St. James Elementary discussed challenges with small, unregulated portable classrooms during a meeting Thursday. District officials announced that construction for a $69-million replacement facility, which will raise capacity from 760 to 1,200 students, will begin this summer and finish by the 2028 school year. - ➤ David Warner announced his candidacy for the Horry County Board of Education District 10, covering Carolina Forest, Conway, Green Sea Floyds and Loris.
