- ➤ Her Sacred Circle is hosting the first-ever Grand Strand Sisterhood Social tomorrow from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grand Strand Brewing Company on 819 N Kings Hwy where inspirational speakers and women-owned vendors will support a community effort to dismantle mean girl culture. WPDE
- ➤ Conway residents will experience a time warp at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 as American Legion Horry Post 111 presents a USO tribute show on the Town Green at 200 Laurel St—donations will help fund their new building—and if rain forces a change the event will move indoors. My Horry News

- ➤ The City of Halloween is transforming downtown Conway into a spooky display with skeletons, pumpkins and more as it plans fall festivities starting Oct. 1 that include a Halloween Kickoff Party and various themed events through October — many are expected to sell out fast. Residents along the Grand Strand are invited to join in and enjoy the seasonal celebrations. WPDE
- ➤ Rocket Ride, a four-piece hard rock band led by Gary Sears, will play at Javelina Texas Bar — Murrells Inlet from 8 to 11 p.m. tomorrow, while Ron Daise held a free Gullah Geechee culture event at Brookgreen, the Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival will run at Huntington Beach State Park from Sept. 26 to 28, and a tandem kayak paddle event is planned for Sept. 30 at North Inlet Estuary. - ➤ Myrtle Beach opened a request for qualifications—RFQ—for developers with mixed-use and downtown experience to lead the revival of the Arts and Innovation District. The RFQ is open until 2 p.m. on October 30 and the chosen developer will complete plans when the remaining infrastructure work finishes in 18 months. WMBF News
- ➤ The Myrtle Beach City Council approved an agreement with Pickleport Myrtle Beach to develop six acres of Whispering Pines Golf Course into pickleball courts—Pickleport will invest $5 million and pay annual fees over a 20-year term while handling all construction and maintenance, and the city will own the improvements when the term ends. - ➤ Horry County first responders managed a marked rise in emergency calls as the population grew, with fire and police handling more cases while ambulance response times stayed near nine minutes & officials adding specialized teams, extra ambulances, and drones to improve service. Some volunteer based fire stations were changed to career stations to better meet the community's growing needs and prepare for future challenges. My Horry News
- ➤ Myrtle Beach city leaders passed the first reading of a new ordinance that will regulate electric scooters on city streets. Officials will work on guidelines to ensure safer riding as the measure moves forward. WMBF News
- ➤ A RIDE 3 project to widen Highway 701 in Loris is wrapping up, county officials said. Improved turn lanes from Dogwood Street to the Highway 9 interchange and new sidewalks for pedestrians are nearly finished — only minor work remains. WMBF News
- ➤ City officials announced that political yard signs are allowed on private property 45 days before the election and must be removed 5 days after voting, with a size limit of two feet in height or width. Registered voters will choose a mayor and three council members on November 4, and those placing signs in unauthorized locations—such as public areas—will face misdemeanor charges. WFXB Fox TV

- ➤ Myrtle Beach resident Lanette Barnes, a Parkinson's warrior, is set to lead her team—Buttercup Beasties—in the Michael J. Fox Walk and Run fundraiser in Boston next month to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson's disease. Her team will walk a five-kilometer route to show that people with Parkinson's can stay active and overcome challenges. WPDE

- ➤ This fall, Southern Palmetto Farms in Aynor will offer a corn and cotton maze, jump pad, wagon ride and pumpkin patch every Saturday from 11am-5pm and Sunday from 2pm-5pm throughout October—North Myrtle Beach will host Flavors of Fall on November 1 from 11am-3pm with tickets required, and other fall events like live music and a Halloween bash will take place along the Grand Strand during the season.
