Horry County released mugshots for 30 individuals on July 31st listing various charges such as disorderly conduct, driving under suspension, and trafficking in fentanyl — all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Austin Suman, 36, was sentenced to nine months in prison with a three-year supervised release for sending violent threats to a New York reporter via Facebook and email—he was arrested on Silver Spring Lane in the Cresswind neighborhood near Market Common after his earlier arrest for threatening a former roommate.

Zuri Stephens, an Horry County man, was sentenced Friday to eight years in federal prison for drug trafficking and firearm charges after federal marshals and local police served search warrants—an investigation that began early in 2022 after concerns in the Little River area.

Dr. James Winebrake is the new president of Coastal Carolina University—he began work on July 7 and has met with students, faculty and community leaders while noting that his favorite color is teal.
