- ➤ The world’s largest rubber duck, Mama Duck, will visit Myrtle Beach from May 8—11 to promote water safety awareness during national water safety month. The YMCA of Coastal Carolina, the city, and Visit Myrtle Beach partnered to bring the 60 foot tall duck to the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place along N. Ocean Boulevard. WFXB Fox TV

- ➤ Investigators reviewed a 2023 shootout on Camp Swamp Road where North Myrtle Beach businessman Scott Spivey died from gunshot wounds and his body was moved in his own vehicle to a secure impound yard amid severe weather concerns—county officials have today asked state law enforcement to reopen the case as questions persist over claims of self-defense. - ➤ The 20th Annual Myrtle Beach International Film Festival kicked off Tuesday night at the Grand 14 in the Market Common and will run through Saturday—showing 53 films and 10 documentaries across various categories.
