- ➤ Myrtle Beach held its 36th annual Run to the Sun car show where more than 10,000 people from the U.S. and Canada came to see classic and movie cars like the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard. The three-day show at Old Myrtle Square Mall on North Kings Highway had food and vendors and has given $2.5 million to local charities over its history—organizer David Rodgers said he loves the long-time friendships built there. - ➤ A 53-year-old woman is in jail after Horry County police charged her with cruelty to children for grabbing and twisting a 5-year-old girl's arms at a Conway daycare—hurt the girl and gave her a sprained arm earlier this year. WMBF News

- ➤ On March 12, a Longs man, 25-year-old Ny’quan Zy’quex Chestnut, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for fatally shooting Berlie Michael Jr. on Sept. 2, 2022, and received a 25-year prison sentence — he must serve 85% of his term before parole eligibility. My Horry News
- ➤ The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating former HCPD Deputy Chief Brandon Strickland over his role in reviewing the shooting death of Scott Spivey in September. - ➤ A North Carolina man, Travis Jackson, 31, pleaded guilty in Horry County to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine and to possessing a stolen firearm after leading police on a chase in August 2022 and is set to serve a decade on drug charges and five years on the firearm charge - all sentences running concurrently.
